Man Booker Prize trophy

Davd has designed the trophy for the 2012 Man Booker Prize which was won by author Hilary Mantel for her historical novel, Bringing Up The Bodies. The trophy, which is made from polished cast acrylic, is based on David’s new logo design.

Branding for The Junction

David is delighted to have been appointed by the The Junction arts centre in Cambridge to rebrand the organisation, and design new signage, wayfinding and communications materials. The venue, which hosts live art, music, theatre and clubs, attracts 100,000 visitors a year.

David has designed a website for collaborative performance deviser, performer and teacher, Karen Christopher. The project included a photoshoot with the very patient and talented Kalpesh Lathigra. The site was built by Richard Howard of Flowlabs.

David has designed a major new publication for the Live Art Development Agency.

Access All Areas: Live Art & Disability is a 200 page book and double DVD set featuring artists’ writings, creative dialogues, critical commentaries and films that reflect the ways in which Live Art has represented issues of disability in inventive and radical ways. This publication was specifically designed with accessibility in mind. It is wirobound to open flat, and typeset in a large (14 point) typeface with high contrast throughout. The accompanying DVDs include captions and an audio track.

Featured artists and writers include Ron Athey, Bobby Baker, Pete Edwards, Lyn Gardner, Noëmi Lakmaier, Kim Noble, Martin O’Brien and more.

Here’s my poster for the docMiami International Film Festival 2012 in Florida. It’s inspired by an old movie poster for a film called ‘Moon Over Miami’ with Betty Grable. The annual festival showcases documentary films and music with a focus on human rights and good causes.

David has been appointed official poster artist for the Doc Miami International Film Festival 2012 that takes place in Florida in December. The festival showcases the best in documentary film with a strong focus on humanitarian causes, and also includes a music festival. The painting will be unveiled in March 2012.
